I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the pupil will be able to:
a. compare the height using tall and high;
b. participate actively in class discussion;
c. show tall, taller and tallest.

Class, before we go to our next lesson I want you to
read this story first.
“This is Nilo. With Nilo are his older brother and
father. The three of them are picking guavas from
the guava tree.”
Who is the little boy in the story?
All: It’s Nilo teacher.
Very good. The little boy in the story is Nilo.
Who are with Nilo?
All: His older brother and father teacher.
Very good! What are they doing children?
All: They are picking guavas from the guava
tree teacher.
Excellent! They are picking guavas from the guava
tree.
Do you have a plant of guava tree?
All: Yes, we have teacher.
Now class, what is Nilo doing to pick guava from
their guava tree?
All: He is jumping teacher.
“Very good. Aside from jumping, what did he do
with his arms?
Student A: He extended his arms upward

Why do you think Nilo is jumping and extending his
arms upward to pick guava from the guava tree?

1. Presentation of the Lesson
Class, look at this picture of Nilo, Nilo’s older
brother and father. Let us compare the height of
these three (3) persons.

This is Nilo.
Nilo is tall (mataas).
How about Nilo’s brother? If we compare the two of
them, Nilo’s older brother is taller (mas mataas) than
Nilo.
Now, look at this person, Nilo’s father. If we
compare Nilo’s older brother and Nilo, he is the
tallest (pinakamataas) among them.
Class, our lesson for today is about comparing tall,
taller and tallest.
Again children, Nilo is tall, Nilo’s older brother is
taller and Nilo’s father is tallest among them.
2. Discussion/ Analysis
Now children, if we comparing two (2) persons or
objects according to their height we use taller (mas
mataas).
