Explain the following:
1. Clipboard: temporary storage for data
2. GUI: graphical user interphase – it allows other users to interact with other
computers
3. An icon : the small pictures on the desktop which represents programs on the
computer

5. Convergence : when a network provider delivers networking services
6. Webcam : a video camera which is designed to record or stream to a computer
or network
7. BIOS : basic input/output system – the program a computer microprocessor
used to start the computer system
8. All specifications of a Monitor : identifies the types of resources to be
monitored and how frequently info about these resources
9. Use of a spreadsheet : creating and maintaining check lists ; simple
calculations ; storing and sharing data
10. CPU speed : determined by how many calculations the processor can perform
per cycle
11. Format Painter : to quickly apply the same formatting , such as colour ; font
and size
12. Compression : reduction in number of bits needed to represent data
