INTRODUCTION This chapter describes the tools used to perform a research study. As a result, the numerous processes used in performing the study are outlined. The topics addressed include research methodologies, survey population, survey area, sample design, and procedure, variables and measurement processes, data collecting methods, data processing and analysis methodologies to be used, and study outcomes (Rashid 2010). Finally, we see how study methodology aids in reaching a final conclusion about how microfinance leads to women's economic empowerment.
