Get baseline knowledge about heritage and learners’ understanding
Teacher will discuss indigenous poetry and praise poetry
Through providing definitions and context
Teacher must issue the mini research informal activity to leaners and the
task must be recorded.
Learners will need to draw from their own knowledge of what they
understand about heritage and how it links to indigenous poetry and praise
poetry.

This lesson you will take lesson one further into the creation process of a
group poem explore text , variation in pitch, vocal clarity, call and
response, physical expressiveness (body language and gesture), as
outlined in CAPS policy (page 40) for both indigenous and praise poetry
Learners will be doing practical work on poem group as part of the building
A detailed guide in conducting the group poem is attached
will be expected to contribute a word or line towards the group poem
block towards individual performance.

Teacher must discuss the Indigenous poems and Praise Poems by South
African Poets. Allow learners to select ONE poem which they can perform
it as a praise poem of indigenous poems as per features described in
lesson 1

This poem is the one in which you will perform as the end of term.
Learners must select a poem of their choice in which the analysis it using

and the poem analysis must be recorded so that the submit it as part of
fulfilling the process of the topic.
