I am a second-year Nursing student at the University of Calgary and have a long time of experience helping kids and youths by facilitating activities related to Mathematics, English, Biology, and Chemistry. I have experience working and interacting with kids with exceptionalities such as ADHD and autism. From 2020 to 2021, I committed myself as a co-founder of Adorable House Tutoring. As a co-founder and program coordinator, I have had an excellent opportunity to sharpen my skills in communication and leadership. The experience allowed me to explore and implement my creativity in designing and establishing programs for students based on their needs. In addition, I had been trained to assist, connect, and supervise volunteer tutors and students for learning sessions throughout the role. Besides working as a co-founder, I participated as an English, Mathematics, and Sciences tutor. I tutored over five students in 2020 and 2021 virtually. In August 2020, I was responsible for organizing AOSE workshop to introduce students to international education. My primary responsibilities consisted of delegating tasks, reaching out to guest speakers, and making invitations. I was a recurrent camper of CISV camp, as an overnight camper in Vietnam and Vancouver from 2017 - 2018. I participated as both a camper and a supporter in the camp. As a supporter, my primary role was ensuring the youths’ safety and engagement. In 2022, I was fortunately given a position at SAIT as a summer camp leader. During the job, I led several camps, such as STEM, Mathematics, and Technology. The camp leader position allowed me to explore my adaptability and flexibility during leading camps. I got to interact with kids with exceptionalities and apprehend problem-solving skills between kids and parents. I truly enjoyed working as a camp instructor/leader and being a part of the campers’ summer. While working in the camp, I had a chance to encounter and interact with campers with special needs in learning, which has honed my creativity in pedagogy to engage them. The summer camps were a remarkable memory of my last summer, and I would love to continue this journey this summer of 2023. I have certificates in Basic Life Support, First Aid & CPR/AED Level C, and Community Based Naloxone Training. I have over ten years of experience working with Words, Excel, and Powerpoint, with official MOS certificates in Excel and Powerpoint. I am well prepared with an advanced laptop for virtual support and work. I am excited to have the opportunity to get connected with you and be considered for the position of Summer Camp Instructor for Geography Camp, offered by the University of Calgary. It would be my honor to interview your team for further discussion about my past experiences and the role. I am looking forward to having a chance to be a part of the University of Calgary Summer Camp Team! Sincerely, Phan My Linh Ninh
