Valuable Insights/Major Takeaway(s)

Not all of the things and answers can be found
through Christianity. There are things and
situations that are mystically experienced that
don't require answers or explanations. It just
naturally occurs somewhere that made us
wonder about “how it happened” “Are there
any connections in the previous events” but at
the end of the day, those questions are not
meant to answer as they will always be left us
thinking about how possible it was through
God.
Contrary to Plato's statement about love,
Christian philosophers claim that we tend to
search for love to find happiness. Somehow, the
two are still correlated. Both have a significant
sense. According to Plato, we find love to fill in
the emptiness and what’s lacking within us so
in relation to the Christian philosopher, we
search for love because something is missing
and that is happiness. Basically, from my
perspective, the Christian philosopher’s
definition of love is just a part of Plato’s claim.
It is important to know what is the things we
are genuinely happy within the long run. There
is happiness that is short-lived. Because of our
drive to pursue things that we think will make
us happy we failed to notice that behind that
reason we also aimed for other things, it maybe
recognition, popularity or etc. That is the
reason why we never get contented and will
always search for happiness. On the other side,
there are people who think that they already
found their happiness because they can easily

get contented to the point that they settle for
less than they deserve because they are already
used to it, which I think is dangerous.
Sensation and Perception: I stepped out of my
comfort zone to wear a cutesy combination of
clothes and experiment with outfit ideas
because my best friend has a good sense of
fashion and I always learn from her. My
mother is very organized and particular with
things, even the smallest that is why I also
became an organized person. I became a one
direction fan because when we went to MOA,
the exact time one direction held their concert
in the Philippines. I became curious and start
searching for them on the internet and
eventually became a fan.

One object or place would bring back memories.
It does not matter how long you’ve experienced
it but when you encounter this again. It will
instantly remind you of the past.
Moving towards perfection is impossible. It will
never be attained by anyone as people would
always show their human nature. Instead of
aiming for perfection, be better and develop
yourself for growth. We will never be good at
something unless it undergoes a process.
Progress, no matter how small it is, is still a
progress so always strive for growth.
Having knowledge does not mean easier life. It is
a common misconception that if you have a lot
of knowledge, life will so much favor you. There
are still who lack knowledge but manage to get
their life much better compared to the ones who
have the bulk of it. Personally, I think it is
because traits and characteristics also put a
weight on a person’s success. Knowledge alone
will never be enough, the reason why there are a
lot of people who succeeded without an
education.
The whole discussion
is interesting. Prof.
Tecson always gives
examples and makes
us understand the
lesson in the easiest
way. She gives us a
5-minute break so we
drink water and such.
The class is also
interactive as she
makes us share our
thoughts within the
class.
Having self-awareness equates to also having
confidence. If you really know yourself, you
will deal with people better and build good
relationships with them. It will help us to see
things from a different viewpoint and build
ourselves to get better.
One of the things that create realization about
ourselves is the things we encounter on a daily
basis. It has a connection to how we want
The discussion is super
refreshing. I realize
many things about
myself and how it
happened to me. It’s
nice to know every
piece of information in
the discussion. Also, I
can relate to Prof.

ourselves to be. Sometimes it inspires us or
creates a great path for us to realize what we
actually want. The environment also has a
vital part in building up ourselves. As we
always with that place, we became used to
what we see or experience with it and we
eventually adapt. We build ourselves based on
how we perceived things that surround us.
We reflect on ourselves based on our social
roles in our family, school, and community. We
tend to construct ourselves based on what we
saw in our family, neighbors, schoolmates, and
teachers. I can apply it to myself but not fully.
My father is also a heavy drinker of alcohol
but no one in the family adapts it, though my
parents allow us to drink alcohol we always
take it in moderation and we’re not really fond
of alcohol. At the end of the day, it is your
choice on how you want yourself to be. If you
will reflect on the person around you or not.
Sometimes we build ourselves based on how
people treat us or how people want us to be. If
they like us thin or petite, we tend to work
hard to maintain that figure just for the sake
of validation within them.
Tecson’s some example
as she always shares
her experiences and
such within the class.

Rate of your accomplishment this month as a student from 1-1O: (Cite situations
where you participated in the discussion)
For April I gave myself a perfect 10. I always take the initiative to pay attention to the
entire discussion and take in as much information as possible. I also participate whenever
Prof. Tecson asks the class opinions or thoughts about the lesson. I share my mosaic in class
because Professor asks us to share. I consistently arrive on time and actively participate in
class. To engage in the discussion, I always open my camera. I also finish my journal on time
and write there every major takeaway on lessons and productively discuss my perspective.
Since the midterms examination is at the end of the month, I make sure to review my notes
and lessons so I can get a high score. Overall, I did great even though April has been a tough
month.
