SCIENTIFIC ACCOUNTS
The science of language encompasses sounds,
grammar, meaning and much more. Linguists
apply the scientific method to the study of
language, making observations, forming and
testing hypotheses, developing models and
theories.
PHYSICAL ADAPTATION
SOURCE THEORY
This theory states that the human body has
something unique that is different from other
creatures. Our lips, tongue, teeth, pharynx,
and larynx are musical systems in our body.
GENETIC SOURCE THEORY
This theory explains more how our
physical bodies changes some
estimates link this timeline to the
development of the FOXP2 gene, also
known as ‘’ the language gene’’
NOAM CHOMSKY
He supported the Genetic source
theory. In his theory the single step
theory Chomsky states that our
ancestors have one moment leveling
up. This leveling up made us different
to other creatures.
NOAM CHOMSKY
Chomsky also claims that human
has Language Acquisition Device
(LAD). A system to produce
language which only us, human,
who have it.
NATURAL SOUND SOURCE
THEORY
Based on this theory, our ancestors who have
the ability to speak had no language at that
time. They create the language from their
interaction with nature.
