Service Bulletin 2143 June 25, 2021 Page 1-16 Revision B PURPOSE GTN 6XX/7XX software version 6.72 includes the following: • The “Enable ES" button on the transponder menu has been relabeled "ADS-B Out.” NOTE When the button status is green, ADS-B Out is being transmitted by the transponder. Figure 1. ADS-B Out Button • • • Fixed an issue related to turn alerting logic when transitioning onto a direct-to fix (DF) leg from a fly-over waypoint, the alerted course is now the DF leg course. Fixed an issue when in a dual GTN installation with the CDI key configured to disabled, the Top of Descent aural annunciation now only plays on a single GTN. Added DB sync support with GNX 375. Additionally, the GPS/WAAS software is updating from sw v5.3 to v8.3 to address the MSAS range rate corrections issue identified in Garmin Service Advisory 20109 Rev B and restores MSAS to the set of allowed SBAS service providers. NOTE If MSAS was disabled by the user under Garmin Service Advisory 20109, it will need to be enabled after installing GPS/WAAS software v8.3. Refer to the applicable pilot’s guide for instruction on how to enable MSAS. DESCRIPTION This modification consists of accessing the Garmin website and uploading GTN Main software version 6.72 and other software versions listed above. COMPLIANCE Optional: This Service Bulletin may be incorporated at the owner’s discretion and is not warranty reimbursable.
