When States of Matter Change
• This type of change is a physical change and
reversible
• Examples are melting, freezing, evaporation,
boiling, condensing, sublimation
Melting: Solid changing into a liquid
Freezing: Liquid changing into a solid
Evaporation: Liquid changing into a gas
Boiling
Condensing: Gas changing into a liquid
Sublimation: Solid changing into a gas
Dissolving: Solids dissolves in a liquid
Gas Pressure
Atmospheric Pressure
Diffusion: A process in which one substance
spreads through another
