24-hour Literacy 8:00 AM Computer Programming Class (Technological literacy) In class, I used my smartphone to look for the information which the professor mentioned and took note with it. 10:00 AM Introduction to Management Class (Information Literacy) 12:00 PM Lunch Time (Functional Literacy) Concentrating in class, I comprehended what the professor said and wrote down some key words in my notebook. I read the menu and ordered myself a bowl of noodles. 13:00 PM Calculus Class (Mathematical Literacy) In that day’s class, we discussed about what a function is and calculated the limits. 15:00 PM Lab. of Computer Programming (Computer Literacy) I printed a diamond shape on the screen with the C programming language as the teaching assistants demanded. 19:00 PM Watching Netflix (Media Literacy) I have been watching the drama called Orange Is the New Black, which talked about the inmates’ daily life in a women prison. Including such crucial issues as racism, human rights, and poverty, this drama isn’t something only for entertainment. The most inspiring lesson I learn from the drama is that there is no pure villain. Every crime is committed for a reason, such as domestic violence, childhood shadow, poverty, and so on. People make mistakes from time to time, and sometimes, they are made to do the wrong thing for survival. 23:00 PM Reading a Novel (Conventional Literacy) To improve my reading skill, I bought an English novel called Normal People and read one chapter per night before bed. It described two teenagers’ love story. Still a teenager, I enjoyed reading the part of their struggles in life and immature acts like caring what their peers thought too much, for I could always find my shadow on the characters.
