DBT Path Week 5 Homework 1. Which areas of the PLEASE skills need your attention most? Honestly I need to give attention to practically every area. I have one health issue that I have been ignoring for more than 10 years. I need to make an appointment for that. I need to make some big changes in my diet. My husband and I have been eating fast food for almost every meal for the past couple months because of the stress of moving into our first house. Now that we’ve moved in, we need to make an effort to cook more and eat nutritious foods. I have cut down a lot on my alcohol and weed consumption, but I know it would be best to eliminate alcohol from my diet completely because of how it can mix with my Ritalin. I’m doing a lot better with my sleep routine, but I still need to be mindful of the time I spend on my phone before bed. I think my second most important PLEASE skill to work on other than Eating is exercising. I tend to neglect that area of my life when I am stressed and that is when it can benefit me the most. 2. What are you willing to commit to doing to address these areas to increase your emotional resiliency and decrease your emotional vulnerability? ➔ Physical Illness: Make an appointment for the dermatologist by the end of June ➔ Eating: Cook 4 dinners a week ➔ Mood-Altering Substances: Only drink twice a month ➔ Sleep: Put my phone away to charge every night by 10:30PM ➔ Exercise: Walk my dog every day except Sunday for 20 minutes
