Narrative Report on Recognition Day of Tonga Lim Siao Sr. Integrated School
S.Y. 2021-2022
DepEd acknowledges the importance of recognizing learners who have shown
exemplary performance in specific areas of their school life. Through the Department
of Education’s (DepEd) Order No. 36, s. 2016 entitled Policy Guidelines on Awards
and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, awards given are designed
to formally recognize the outstanding performance and achievement in support of the
holistic development of the Filipino learners. Furthermore, the giving of awards and
recognition is but one of the many ways by which teachers and schools provide
students with positive feedback and affirmation, which can improve the learner’s
confidence, self -awareness, and enthusiasm for learning. This creates a positive
classroom climate that supports the well-being and achievement of all students. Being
one with DepEd, Tonga Lim Siao Sr. Integrated School conducts the Recognition Day,
for this School Year (SY) 2021-2022.
The program was held at the covered court of TLSSIS, last June 29, 2022, at
exactly 8:00 in the morning, and was hosted by Ma’am Evannie P. Luague, T-I, and
Ma’am Abegail M. Maluya, T-I. It started with an invocation, lead by Mr. Tatong S.
Tagayan, SGC President, followed by the singing of Philippine National Anthem,
Regional Hymn, and Sarangani Hymn. Everyone was cordially welcomed by Ma’am
Joaane A. Lara, T-III, as she delivered her opening remarks. Afterwards, the barangay
captain of Barangay Burias in person of Honorable Venancio Wata III, expressed his
sincere congratulatory message to the honor students. The highlight of the program
which is the Awarding of Ribbons to deserving honor pupils and students took place
as the advisers of all grade levels assisted the awarding. Afterwards, Ma’am Cherrie
Agao, T-I, introduced the keynote speaker. The honor pupils and students were
emboldened and inspired as the speaker of that day, who is the great granddaughter
of the late donor of TLSSIS, in the person of Mrs. Jojie M. Coronica, conveyed her
message. Indeed, her good works are worth emulating. To break the monotony,
everyone was entertained by an intermission number given by the talented selected
pupils of the school. Afterwards, Brngy. Councilor of Barangay Burias, Honorable
Sapra Lacawan also had the opportunity to give a message. Recognition Day won’t
be complete without also recognizing the hard work and active participation of the
teachers and parents, not just the learners. Thus, the Awarding of Certification of
Recognition of the Teachers and Parents of TLSSIS also took place. Sir Marlon T.
Recto, the school head, lead in the distribution of certificates, and followed by his
message as well. Finally, the program was officially closed by Ma’am Mercedita Siao,
T-III, as she delivered her opening remarks. Indeed, learners, parents and teachers,
who have worked hard in their academics, conduct, and attendance were successfully
given recognition on that day, because of their prominent efforts for the greater good
of Tonga Lim Siao Sr. Integrated School.
