RADIOACTIVE ISOTOPES This project will be used to discuss and illustrate radioactive isotopes PROJECT CONTENT This project should include: ● Brief definition of isotopes (2-3 sentences) ● Definition / discussion of radioactive isotopes (radioisotopes ) and radioactivity o Include a brief history of radioactivity o Reference to artificial and naturally occurring isotopes ● A discussion of the three particles/radiation that are ejected from radioisotopes. o This should be presented in a TABLE. The particles and radiation should be compared in terms of the following properties: ▪ Description of the particles/radiation ▪ The penetration power ● Uses of radioactivity. Include its use in the o Medical field o Agriculture field o Energy industry and any two other fields PROJECT PRESENTATION Please present the project in sections using PROJECT CONTENT as a guideline. You are free to use any mode of presentation Power point, jamboard, video, Google doc or combinations of the modes. You are not limited to this list. Any typed material must be done in a legible font. Please refrain from plagiarism. DO NOT copy and paste. Research and read the information then summarize in YOUR OWN WORDS. Marks will be awarded for creativity. Please be creative, include appropriate visuals. Group Presentation Rubric The teacher will use this rubric to evaluate each group’s presentation. Students can look at this rubric so they may understand what they are being graded on.
