This customer access is cheaper (or free!) compared to other eCommerce platforms where you pay for each individual view of your store to companies like Facebook and Google in the form of ads! “ ACCESS 300 MILLION CUSTOMERS ORGANICALLY Another key reason to sell on Amazon is Fulfillment by Amazon. Simply put, this means you find a product, have it made, ship it to Amazon and they will take care of EVERYTHING ELSE! They will store, pack, prepare and deliver your items to customers. They’ll even provide Customer Service! No more filling your garage or living room with merchandise! This strategy makes for an easily scalable business because now you’re not limited by how many sales you can make in a day, or how much room you have for storage. You can sell 1 unit or 1,000 units in a day and it will make no difference to you! Strategies like Retail Arbitrage (RA), and Online Arbitrage (OA) are options but they do not stand as viable business models. They are races to the bottom. They require far too much effort and manual labor, making success nearly impossible. I always recommend Private Label (PL). Private label gives you more control, with a higher ceiling for success and scalability than the other models. With Private Label, you find your product, modify and improve it a bit, slap your logo on it and it is now your brand. I prefer PL because you have more control over your products and listings with an opportunity for higher profit margins. You build your own brand instead of building someone else's. CLICK HERE Product research video training series CLICK HERE FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE “ PRODUCT RESEARCH IS, BY FAR, THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP Reviews: Perhaps the most difficult component to being successful on Amazon is generating reviews. It takes time and it is INCREDIBLY difficult (and risky!) to fake them. The product you choose will be the foundation of your business and any sales that follow. This means that Product Research is, by far, the MOST important step in your success. I will only consider getting into a niche space (a niche is a subset of products, like teapots) if the AVERAGE number of reviews on the first page is LESS than 75. You will want to look for a product that is popular, and one that people want to buy, but you don’t want one that is too competitive. You don’t want to pick a product just because you like it. In order to generate sales, other people need to like, and want it, as well. There are ways to choose products that match the criteria for success. This lower number of reviews means that you have a real chance to beat your competitors on reviews and value, making it more likely that your listing will appear on the first page, and more likely that the right buyers will find your product. When choosing a new product to sell, the main things you need to consider are the competitive landscape and the current number of sellers, but also the market demand for the product. You don’t want a product that everyone is selling, nor do you want a product that no one wants to buy. FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | The opposite route to take would be entering a niche for a product like “vitamin C serum,” which generates, on average, 1,000s of reviews making it all but impossible to make a dent in the market. Think about it this way: if you see two similar products, one with 10 reviews, and one with 1,000 reviews, which do you think will allow you to stand out more? FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 1 | FIND A PROFITABLE PRODUCT, WHAT TO LOOK FOR Product Price: I never sell any product with an average price below 13 dollars. It is very difficult to be profitable at such a low price point. You cannot forget to account for Amazon’s fees for fulfillment. If you see all the other sellers on page one are selling for less than 13 dollars, it is definitely time to move on to a new product! Monthly Revenue: I always look for products that generate between 7,000 - 15,000 per month. This is the sweet spot. If the product generates below 7,000 per month, it’s not really worth your time. A good Profit Margin is 50%, so 3,500 per month profit works out to be a little over 100 profit per day. You really don’t want to dip below that. individuals will try to hijack your Amazon listing and do shifty things that you really don’t want to be constantly dealing with as a seller. Everyone wants to hit it out of the park. Stop looking for a home run! Instead, do what thousands of my students have done and look for products in the 7-15k per month range. You can thank me when you avoid all the drama and BS! What to look for in a profitable product: The broadest, “most relevant,” keyword for the product must have at least 25k monthly search to prove enough demand. The way to check for this is by simply grabbing what you think is the broadest keyword, placing it in Viral Launch keyword tool, and sorting from highest to lowest searched to see it’s exact search volume. Anything above 15,000 revenue per month and all the “bottom feeders” start to take notice. In this instance, Vitamin C is the broadest “most relevant” keyword. How do I know this? I placed the long tail keyphrase in Viral Launch keyword tool and sorted it from highest to lowest searches. I then confirmed with Amazon to make sure it was still the same product. You will also need to know this step for creating your listing. But more on listings later... Do not just check the sales estimates just once. We suggest checking it for at least 2-4 weeks. Sourcing your product from China to the United States comes down to simply buying your products in bulk from China for a lower price, say 1 dollar, and then selling it on Amazon for a higher price, like 20 dollars. Alibaba.com FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 2 | HOW TO SOURCE YOUR PRODUCT TO AMAZON Alibaba is by far the biggest marketplace for sourcing products. It is the place that most Amazon sellers use to purchase their products. When on Alibaba, I recommend searching by ‘Suppliers’ rather than products. Suppliers often have a bunch of listings that are more or less the same and this will help you cut through some of the noise. Also, be sure to tick the gold supplier box. This will narrow down your results to what’s usually a list of higher quality. It is worth noting, however, that suppliers can simply purchase the Gold Supplier medallion. • FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | “ Alibaba is by far the biggest marketplace for sourcing products. FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 2 | HOW TO SOURCE YOUR PRODUCT TO AMAZON I always contact 3-5 different Suppliers. The more quotes you have for your products, the better overall price you will get for your products. For example, if I contact 3 suppliers to order 500 units of Vitamin C serum, Supplier A might quote 3 dollars per unit, Supplier B might quote 2 dollars per unit, and Supplier C might quote 1 dollar per unit. Remember, these prices are ALWAYS negotiable! I would show Supplier A and B, my 1 dollar quote from supplier C. Let them know that to gain your business, they have to beat that price. Payment: • Only pay 30% Upfront. 70% can be sent AFTER the product is completed and passed inspection. If 50% is requested and 50% later that i would grant them it, nothing more! • Always pay the 30% upfront via PayPal Goods and Services, FUNDED by a credit card for maximum protection. If things go wrong you’ll be better protected. Suppliers will try to say that they do not take PayPal but this is not the case. Offer to split the PayPal fees with them 50/50 and they are likely to sing a different tune. • Payment via Alibaba is also an option • Some suppliers use Trade Assurance • Stay away from payments made through Western Union FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 2 | HOW TO SOURCE YOUR PRODUCT TO AMAZON General Notes • SUPPLIERS NORMALLY COMMUNICATE VIA ALIBABA MESSENGER OR EMAIL. From there, you can decide which you like best. • PRODUCTION CAN TAKE 2 - 6 WEEKS • THIS MANUFACTURERS TEMPLATE IS THE EXACT ONE I USE to give the impression that I am a large company. I have used this to order millions of dollars worth of products. Trust me, it works. Show them the listing so they can quickly see what you want. Pretend your brand has a CEO who is not you -- this can help with negotiations. For example, tell them that if they drop the price 1 dollar per unit, you could convince the CEO to buy today. I suggest creating an LLC in Wyoming for maximum protection from an anonymity perspective. It is very inexpensive to form a company there and there are no state taxes in Wyoming. I also suggest creating a professional seller account using your LLC. This step protects your personal assets in case there is ever a legal issue. Account types • Professional account is $39.99 / month, works out a lot cheaper when selling high volume. • Individual account with no monthly fee, $1 / sale FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 3 | CREATING LISTING USING BEST KEYWORD RESEARCH To create a product listing on Amazon you start by navigating to the Manage Inventory Screen • Click add products > Create a new product listing > Choose the most relevant product category for your Product • Choose Your Product Title -- You can change your product title right up until the moment it goes live. After that, it is difficult to change. • Manufacturing Name - Brand Name, this does not have to be the same as the name of your LLC • Brand Name - should be fairly universal. Avoid using a category specific brand name. For example, don’t put PING PONG TABLE SELLERS if you are selling ping pong tables. Using something more general allows you to easily expand into other products that aren’t ping pong tables down the road. • Product ID - UPC, a barcode that is unique to every single product. You can purchase barcodes from gs1us.org as they are Amazon’s preferred place of purchase. You can also buy barcodes from 3rd party companies at a much cheaper rate but this can be risky. • Click ‘Offer’ to set your price. Set your price as high as you can realistically see yourself selling your product to avoid price band restrictions. Then, click ‘Save and finish’ to create your listing. Keyword Research: I use the Pro Plan, it’s the best deal anywhere in Amazon Software by FAR! Viral Launch does all the heavy lifting for you. They tell you exactly how many keywords you may have and what your “optimization score” is. Believe me, I wish I had had this tool when I first started! All you have to do is find the broadest keyword for your product and put it in the “Enter a keyword” section. Be sure to have the broadest, main keywords in your title. Also, DO NOT keyword jam your title or listing. Make it readable and have the bullets and description focused on your customers’ pain points! The keywords that you can’t fit inside your bullet points and description that are remaining inside the “listing builder” keyword list can be added to the “backend search terms.” Usually, these terms include numbers and misspellings! (ex, 25mm, suger) “ Ps. All you have to do to find your broadest keyword is go to the “keyword tool” inside Viral Launch and place the search term of your choice (ex. Vitamin C serum for women), then sort from highest to lowest exact searches and it will show your broadest keyword (ex. Vitamin C) FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | DO NOT keyword jam your title or listing. Make it readable FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 3 | CREATING LISTING USING BEST KEYWORD RESEARCH Ignore the ‘Sponsored’ listings. These listings are not chosen by Amazon to organically appear first. If Amazon ranks your product first organically, then you KNOW that Amazon believes this product to be ultra relevant for the chosen keyword. This is the best evidence available that these particular listings are HIGHLY optimized and you will want to piggyback off of that! So I like to enter either my OWN ASIN first (an ASIN is simply a unique identifier for every Amazon product. If you are unsure how to find your ASIN, you can easily Google that information. Or if you don’t yet have any live products, you can simply use the top 4 organically ranking products! FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE CREATING FNSKU AND GRAPHIC DESIGNS FOR PRODUCT In order to ship your products to Amazon, your supplier will have to have to have the FNSKU or barcode. For instructions on how to grab your FNSKU or barcode, read the next page. The FNSKU should be placed on to the custom graphic design that will be put on to the cardboard box by the manufacturer. I don’t recommend printing the barcode directly on to the product packaging as that can be low quality and nonreadable by Amazon’s scanners. FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE To provide your FNSKU or barcode to the manufacturer so they can print it on each product, you will first need to know where to find it. Here’s how to find your FNSKU or barcode: • Click Inventory > Manage inventory and you will see your listing displayed below • Click ‘Edit’ on the right side of your listing and choose ‘Print item labels’ • Click ‘Print item labels’ again to get your FNSKU barcode. It’s the one required by Amazon to have on your product packaging. This is the only barcode you need on your product packaging. • Send the FNSKU to your supplier. They can either stick that on to your packaging or they can print it directly onto the packaging which is recommended. • Customized packaging is recommended. This sets your product further apart from the competition. The sooner you can get this done, the better. It will take a couple of weeks for them to produce it. • Always ask your supplier for the different packaging options that come with your product. They are a design company created solely for Amazon sellers. They know how to create packaging with the most important factors in mind, including: • • • Brand name • Product name • Product photo Where it was made such as ‘Made in China’ Your FNSKU barcode (this is the barcode amazon scans to sell your product) • Other legal requirements depend on the type of product Outlinematic 20% Discount: CLICK HERE FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE Product Photography Product photography can be done by a local or online photographer. I STRONGLY recommend using a highquality, reputable service for this task. Think about it: when you see two products on Amazon what is the first THING you notice? The images, the reviews, and the price. These are the things we are trying to optimize for, and the service I always use and recommend is Viral Launch. Show your product used by different people and include a photo of its packaging You can upload up to 9 images on your listing, 4 or 5 images for starters is fine. CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE GETTING REVIEWS, LAUNCHING TO PAGE ONE Step #4: How to get initial reviews for your product + launch your product to page one Amazon Launches and Reviews have seen the huge changes in recent years. This is an updated strategy thats proven to work! LAUNCHES NO LONGER WORK BY RUNNING HEAVILY DISCOUNTED PRODUCT GIVEAWAYS DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY! The general idea behind getting to page one and “launching” your product is tricking A9 (which is Amazon’s ranking algorithm they use to rank millions of products). You need to trick A9 into thinking your product is selling better than the products currently listed on page one. FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 4 | GETTING REVIEWS, LAUNCHING TO PAGE ONE Because Amazon ranks products primarily based on sales velocity and sales history, if you can achieve a sustained sales velocity greater than the current page one products, you will organically rank higher than them! How do you do this? Simple: You do it by calculating how many units per day are being sold by the sellers on page one for your current product niche. You can do this using the iTrack 999 Cart trick method or by calculating the average monthly sales. Take the average monthly sales of all products on page one and divide them by 30 to get the average daily sales. I typically remove the two highest and lowest selling products to remove outliers and create a more accurate average number. “ Amazon ranks products primarily based on sales velocity and sales history, So, for example, if the sellers on page one are selling 10 units per day, you need to sell 11 units per day for 8 days to ‘outrank’ them. To achieve this, you would simply create 99% off coupons and essentially give away 11 units per day to outrank the competitors and sustain that sales velocity for 8 days to make it stick. For just $60 you can go from 0 to 5 reviews, and you’ll never have to worry about being suspended as Amazon completely approves and supports this program. Other methods include using services like Viral Launch and ManyChat, but these avenues are more advanced and too difficult to explain via this cheatsheet. Or watch This Video FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE ADVERTISE USING AMAZON PPC Step #5: Advertise your product using Amazon PPC There are two types of PPC available inside Amazon: Automatic and Manual. Automatic PPC Campaign: Amazon creates this campaign for you. They create permutations of keywords contained in your listing, title, bullets, product description and backend keywords, and automatically test the PPC for you. This method is generally easier but also more expensive. Manual PPC Campaign: With this method, you can select any keywords and create manual campaigns for them as broad match, phrase match, and exact match. FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 5 | ADVERTISING USING AMAZON PPC With exact match, your ads will appear only when someone searches for your exact keyword, without using any other terms in the search. With phrase match, your ad will show when someone searches for your exact keyword, or your exact keyword with additional terms before or after it. With broad match, the keyword can match a shopper’s search terms in any order along with other close variants of your keyword. These variants can include things like plural forms and stemming. “ The more competitive your bid, the more likely your ad will be displayed Running ads on Amazon is done via auction. Each ad is priced on a cost-per-click or CPC basis. The more competitive your bid, the more likely your ad will be displayed when Amazon shoppers search for one of your keywords. The minimum cost per click is $0.10 and the charge per click will never be more than your bid. To manage ad spend, you can select automated bidding. This allows Amazon to optimize bids for other placements below top of search. The keyword bids you provide apply to top of search. Those bids are used as starting bids for other placements which may then be adjusted over time based on your observed conversion rate for these other placements. FREE TRAINING CLICK HERE | FULL COURSE CLICK HERE 5 | ADVERTISING USING AMAZON PPC Automatic Campaign: To Create an Automatic Campaign Go to Advertising > Campaign Manager > Create Campaign Be sure to give your campaign a name, set your daily budget, choose ‘Automatic’ and then click “Continue.” Create 5 automatic campaigns at 10 dollars per day, scale the ones that are giving you a profitable ACoS (If your profit margin on your product is 50%, you want an ACoS of less than 50%) Manual Campaign: Create manual campaigns, and populate them with keywords from Viral Launch Keyword Tool. So let’s say for example your product is a vitamin C serum… Simply click “download CSV” or the “Export” button, take the relevant words, and create manual campaigns with sets of 100 words, I’ve found that if you put more than 100 words per campaign, Amazon can get confused and give you worse results. Something I’ve found is that even if someone types in vitamin C serum, they may end up purchasing a dermaroller if it more closely matches their desires in the product, so don’t be too specific at first, testing is how you make money on Amazon PPC! If you create a campaign and receive zero impressions, then simply create a brand new one, and make sure to only include hyper-relevant terms, and be more aggressive with your bidding and you should receive Impressions! What I do from there is to adjust the keyword bid to be 1 cent higher than what Amazon suggests. By doing this I can outbid all other competitors for the CHEAPEST PRICE while still ensuring I win more auctions! I like to update these suggested bids once per week, or every few days at the start as they can change often. I always stay one or two steps ahead of the competition to ensure that everyone who is part of my community has all the tools and resources needed to be successful.
