Lesson objectives:
Students should be able to explain what oscillation, equilibrium position,
harmonic oscillation is.
Simple harmonic motion is a special type of periodic motion in
which the restoring force on the moving object is directly
proportional to the amount of displacement of the object and acts
in the direction of the object's equilibrium position. This leads to
oscillations which, if not restrained by friction or any other
dissipation of energy, continue indefinitely.
