“Teachers are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.” -Helen Caldicott Developing our future professionals is the very reason why teaching is not just a profession. Teachers should be dedicated and motivated learners who strive to learn and grow. They need to serve and influence their students' lives not just to prepare them for their jobs but also so they can become better citizens of this country. In my insights, teachers must follow a certain path to achieve their profession. Obtaining a degree is not the only thing to consider, but adhering to the law code of ethics. According to Dr. Benjamin Washington a High school assistant principal; Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (2019), Professional development (PD) allows teachers to stay current with curriculum standards and the latest teaching strategies. Dr. Washington states Professional Development (PD) will be allows the educators to develop their teaching professions as they stay with the curriculum standards and also they the latest teaching strategies that may develop learners into globally competitive. As what the video states, Competence is what to make sure the knowledge he/she acquired on their learning process, it is enable the teacher’s to be successful. There are some of the competencies that a teacher should master, firstly is the instructional delivery, it is how the teacher should present their lessons and how their teaching methods inside the classroom. Secondly is the classroom management, it is how you manage the class inside the classroom, it is also where you manage the total count of the students that you’ve handle and each of it you should recognize their capabilities. For my summary, Profession Development is an important thing a Educators should acquire that is because they are also train and develop future professional. So Teachers must gain their knowledge, develop their degree and their ethical obligation as they can be the curriculum standards and develop their teaching strategies.
