Paraplegic is when a patient has a
spinal cord injury and has limited to
no movement in lower
extemities.The most important thing
to remember is to prevent more
damage to the spine and spinal
cord. so Care has to be done
correctly.

It is very important to understand how
to take care of someone who is a
paraplegic. alot of risk for muscle
atrophy, immobility as well as emotion
signs as well. it is important to know
the total health of your client to be able
to assist your patient.
encourage active and passive ROM
2-3X A DAY.
cluster care to promote a proper
sleep wake cycle.
request physical therapy for
decreased mobility patients
use gait belt if needed
