Job Title
Multivendor MPBN Expert
Purpose of the Job
Plans and performs technical activities related to MPBN and IP MPLS nodes to serve the customer independently
directly or through customer interface.
Key Responsibility Areas
JOB ROLES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical/Functional Skills:
1. Knowledge of networking configuration practices utilizing TCP/IP
2. Expert knowledge of LAN and WAN switching components (LAN switches, Access Nodes, VLAN, STP).
3. Expert knowledge of IP Networking Protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF, ISIS).
4. Expert knowledge of routing protocols like MPBGP, MPLS, PBR, ACL, VLAN, HSRP, VRRP, LACP, Ethernet.
5. Hands on Experience in supporting MPLS Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks, LDP, RSVP, TE, VPLS etc.
6. Has in-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention,
security policies, applying filters, etc
7. In-depth product knowledge of Juniper (EX-4200, M120, M10i, M7i), Extreme (BD-8810,BD-8806, Alpine 3804,
3805, X450a-48tdc, Summit48si), Ericsson (SmartEdge). ), Huawei (NE40, Quidway), Alcatel Lucent (7750-SR12,
7750-SR7, 7705 SAR-18, 7210 SAS-E, 7210 SAS-M), Security products ( SRX 3600, SRX 5800, NetScreen
2000/ISG1000/SSG-520M, Huawei Eudemon), U2000.
8. Ability to verify & validate MPBN Network Faults.
9. Understanding of SS7 network, GPRS call flow, 3G call flow and RF network of GPRS.
10. Demonstrable project experience of taking the customer requirements and producing detailed network designs
incorporating up-to-date technologies, and that require minimal operational support.
11. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, including business writing and high quality
technical documentation skills.
12. Good understanding of Telecom traffic flow.
Certifications:
1. JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/ENA/ENS certification- Preferred.
2. CCNA/CCNP certification - Preferred
Behavioral Skills:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication Skills
2. Experience in network support role in telecom service provider environment would be a plus
3. Strong interpersonal skills able to influence and motivate.
4. Good Documentation Skills, able create, review and update technical SOP and knowledge documents.
5. Good Presentation Skills; should be able to conduct/drive internal, team, client and vendor meetings independently.
6. Ability to manage partners /client
7. Ability to remain flexible with work hours and schedules when required (due to support required 24*7) and good
team player.
8. Ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently handle pressure
9. Should be able to work during off hours as required

1. Excellent working familiarity with NMS tools, Ticketing tools.
2. A Self starter must be productive with minimal direction
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, technical, cross-functional environment.

Experience:
Candidate should possess 5-8 years experience of working in telecom network (MPBN/ IP MPLS).
