What About the Children?
The issue of childcare has been one of the most important and critical talking points for the last
decade or so. That’s because family is the base of society therefore if you want to have a productive,
healthy, collaborative society you have to build a rigid and strong base. In this day in age where both
parents in some families are working full time, regardless of the impetuses that led to it, which this

In this last decade women or mothers rather started to share the role of the breadwinner with the

cases money is one of the fundamental roots of this affair, some might say that this is a too materialistic
way of looking at it, but it is true, because when the father’s income is inadequate to cover all the family
expenses this prompts the mother to seek out a job to cover those uncovered expenses and
consequently leave her role at home unfulfilled. Of course, the father also has some roles at home
including taking care of the children, but that comes second in his priorities because in winning the
bread he takes care of them and their mother in some way. Furthermore, another factor is the personal
aspirations of either parent, the mother’s or the father’s. Everyone of us has goals and dreams in this
life, those range from very humble and small, to incredibly ambitious and astronomically big ones, which
by the way there’s no wrong way of going about choosing your dreams.
Like everything in life choosing to do anything results in a bunch of challenges presenting themselves to
you. On that note parents face some challenges when they opt for working both at the same time, first
one being giving every one of their responsibilities it’s fair share of attention and time, in other words to
do their parenting duties when it’s time for that and focusing on it completely this way the children will
not have a lack of care and communication with their parents and build their relationship with each
other so they could grow up and become a fully realized adult. Another challenge which is closely
related to the first one is to give time for themselves because people need to blow off some steam every
once in a while, set back, take a really deep breath, and hop back on this roller coaster called life.
There’s really a lot of solutions for these problems, they are all easier said than done, but they are
possible to implement into your life. One positive trend that has emerged recently is parents sharing
their childcare duties with each other. In addition, parents can organize their work schedules in such a
way that one of them at least is at home with the children. Moreover, they can have immediate family
members and even extended family members take care of the children while they are away, that way
they can guarantee that their children are in good hands with people they trust. Lots of facilities provide
daycare at work for their employees one of the parents could put their children their until they are done
with work.
Ultimately, the issue of childcare is of the complex kind but it can be solved, either by the solutions this
essay suggested or any other. I encourage every couple to give their children a lot of time and attention
because on this day in age if you are not involved in the upbringing of your child the internet will do that
for you, and guess what? It’s really not the best parent out there.
