After flying several holdings to dump fuel for about one hour the aircraft landed safely back at Cape Town. According to the report of the crew it seems that the aircraft received structural damage near the tail that needs to be repaired. Our own technicians are expected to arrive at Cape Town airport in about 34 hours to evaluate which parts need to be repaired and how long this is going to take. We expect further information about the damage to the aircraft and about the date of the testflight and possible return into service in about 48 hours.
