Success is determined by hard work, and luck has no relation to success.
I’m one of the people who consider success not to be determined by the sole dedication of the
individuals. Many factors are required so as to achieve successfulness. I’ve experienced first handed what a
genius looks like. He was one of my close friends and he was one of the prodigy kids who excels in
studying. It requires him little to no effort in learning new things and applying it into doing problems that
gets him a full scholarship in a good university. Comparing him with me who is not as competent and has to
work really hard to achieve a little over a half of his academic achievement. With this real experience, I now
believe being born a genius is a luck. Luck has played an important role in many of the well-established
organization. In a business aspect, the first reason is that it is true that marketing research tremendously
assists the company’s future but they still have to rely on luck whether their business w ill be rewarded or go
bankrupt. Another variable we cannot control is timing. It does not matter that you have perfectly planned
out your business model and this is where “timing” existence is significant. There might be a chance of
getting no clients at all in an unfortunate timing whether it be the market demands suddenly drop or the
trend just stopped if you’re doing a business not involving a life’s necessity. I’ve once heard the story of a
successful business from the company owner which is my own father that went downhill in a few months.
The demands remain the same but the unlucky period of time when there were invasions of big companies
from the west. They pressured him to close down the company because all of his associate’s company were
all bought by this western organization. As we can all see from the points I have mentioned above that luck
has quite a big relation to success albeit hard work is also important. I strongly believe that with a good mix
between luck and hard work will definitely results in a successful outcome.
