Bilal Al-amrany Prof. Topu Saha Physics 121A 12/1/22 Faraday’s Law Objective: To become familiar with the concepts of changing magnetic flux and induced currents associated with Faraday’s law of induction. ● Part I (EMF 2Hz) ○ Firstly, we assembled the experimental setup for Faraday's law of induction. ■ Helmoltz coils, small coil, voltage sensor, and the magnetic sensor were set up accordingly. ■ R (avg radius) = 0.10715m Helmholtz coil ■ N_t (number of turns) = 500 Helmholtz coil ■ A (cross-sectional area) = 7.306*10^-4 m^2 Small (induced) coil ■ N (number of turns) = 2000 Small (induced) coil ○ The set up was linked to the computer software to ultimately display three graphs ■ V = Voltage (V) Graph ■ I = Current (A) Graph ■ B = Magnetic field strength (T) Graph ● Part II: (EMF 4Hz) ○ Same process the only difference is the Frequency; in which has been increased from 2Hz to 4Hz. ● And from both results; info was recorded: Conclusion: We ultimately changed magnetic flux and induced currents associated with Faraday’s law of induction; illustrated results graphically through capstone, and changed frequency and its effects.
