Astorga Central Elementary School, School Planning Team discussed and shared
different views and opinions, in coming up with a suitable and realistic School Improvement
Plan for School Year 2023 – 2026.
ACES, SPT exchanged ideas of an idealistic school and their interpretation of the DepEd
vision, mission and core values. They conceptualized the perfect school for their learners. ACES,
SPT, envisioned a school that embraces the idea that ALL students can learn. Works to build
safe learning spaces and tries to be nimble and adjust as the needs of students shift. In
addition, the group also emphasizes that an ideal school, should have teachers who raise
students with the thinking and learning skills that they require in order to continue to learn well
after they have left their classroom, inspire a lifelong love of learning by creating lessons that
are exciting, authentic, engaging, and relevant to the lives of their students. Lastly, an ideal
school is equipped with the necessary equipment needed for efficient teaching and learning.
On DepEd Vision. A vision statement is an essential public declaration that informs the
community about the school’s purpose and its goals for the future. The school’s vision
embodies all the values that it strives to instill in its pupils and inspire in the community on the
whole. Therefore, ACES, SPT embraces the DepEd vision, to educate all students to the highest
levels of academic achievement, to enable them to reach and expand their potential, and to
prepare them to become productive, responsible, ethical, creative and compassionate
members of society.
On DepEd Mission. A school mission is a public declaration that schools or other
educational organizations use to describe their founding purpose and major organizational
commitments—i.e., what they do and why they do it. ACES, SPT, adopts the DepEd mission.
Which is to empower students to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value knowledge and
skills that will support them, as life-long learners, to participate in and contribute to the global
world and practice the core values of the school.
On DepEd Core Values. Core values help communicate the school's story – its mission,
standards and desired outcomes. Establishing those ideals provides the foundation for building
the type of atmosphere the school wants to foster. ACES core values as adhered from DepEd
core values, emphasizes the importance of instilling the Filipino values to every student. Giving
importance to the love of country, love of God, love of nature and humanity.
