By virtue of RA 6973, otherwise known as the SKPSC Charter. Sultan Kudarat Polytechnic State College (SKPSC) was established in 1990. The law was authored by former Cong. Estanislao V. Valdez of the Lone District of Sultan Kudarat in the House of Congress and supported in the senate by Sen. Edgardo Angara. Like a few other state colleges in the country, SKPSC was established out of five (5) previously DECS-supervised High Schools in five (5) municipalities of Sultan Kudarat province. One of which is the Tacurong Municipal High School converted into SKPSC Tacurong Campus now Sultan Kudarat State University Tacurong Campus. Sultan Kudarat State University Tacurong Campus like the other campuses started with limited program offerings but to adapt and adjust with the constantly changing societal needs, it expanded its variety of courses for the students of Sultan Kudarat Province and its nearby Provinces. As of now, it is composed of two Colleges, College of Business Administration and Hotel Management with the programs: Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management – Level ??? Bachelor of Science Hotel Management Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Management and Colleges of Arts and Sciences with the programs: Bachelor of Science in Biology Bachelor of Science Environmental Science Bachelor of Science in Economics Bachelor of Science in Political Science SKSU Tacurong Campus Directorship commenced from the leadership of Dr. Dolorcita E. Pauya, Dr. Genoveva V. Pauya, Dr. Reynaldo H. Dalayap, Dr. Elvie V. Diaz and at present Dr. Ma. Jeanelle B. Argonza. During this progressive epoch oozing with dynamism, constructions, renovations and purchases of digitalize and modernized supplies and equipment were also made a priority in concomitant with the developmental goals of the University in providing quality and excellent services to its clienteles and stakeholders. Some of the notable transformations of SKSU Tacurong Campus were: Construction of Two-Storey Academic Buildings for College of Arts and Sciences Construction of Tw0-Storey Academic Building for College of Business Administration and Hotel Management Construction of Academic Buildings Repair and Repainting of Library Building Currently, the Campus is composed of 95 teaching and 13 non-teaching workforce united and passionate in maximally giving its allegiance to the administrative functions and commitment to the Four-Fold mandated functions of the University to categorically become the “generators of solutions” in harmony with University’s legal processes and implementing rules and guidelines. The increasing number of its enrollees, approximately 2,500 every semester, is indeed an indication that: it can compete with the neighboring educational institutions; its leadership is the pivotal force behind this success; the parents know the high quality school experience of the SKSU Tacurong Campus since they are investing significant resources to provide the very best education for their child expecting the best; the faculty and staff deliver a high quality educational experience and personally connected with the students in a positive way; the demographics, location and price is accessible and strategic in light of future sustainability; and its reputation as a learning environment is positively taken by the students and stakeholders. Truly, SKSU Tacurong Campus is a “citadel of knowledge and fame.”
