TECH TIP Strain Relief when using a DXE-CC4-CON connector A customer question came in asking if there was a way to provide strain relief when using the DXE-CC4-CON connector. The customer was concerned since the connector was being taken on and off multiple times and the wires were breaking. Thanks to DX Engineering team member Bob, W5OV for describing this method that works great. Install the wires into the connector. Use a ZIP Tie (or Wire Tie) and snug it down tight against the connector, holding the wires in place. There is a lip in this type of connector that makes using a Zip Tie really easy. Making a loop in the cable will increase the strain relief. In cases where the jacket of the cable is too stiff to make a loop. You can use longer wires to allow making a loop and hold it in place using a Zip Tie.
