Mohammadreza Dadkhah 3510 SOUTHEAST MARINE DRIVE, VANCOUVER, V5S 4R3 E: Mrd12888@gmail.com P: +1(778) 723 7246 April 26, 2022 To Whom it may concern: I write to express my interest in working with your company in a supporting capacity as a former civil engineer. I was born in Iran in 1969, graduated from high school in 1988, and was then accepted by Kashan University, where I gained experience in two big construction companies. I graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1993. Fortunately, I was hired by a municipal as a supervisor on projects in the city of Omidiyeh, located in the south of Iran. The projects included road construction and urban building construction. It was very valuable experience for me. While I was working, I obtained civil engineering certification to sign blueprints. After four successful years, I moved to Esfahan, where I found an excellent opportunity as a supervisor in a government organization overseeing recreation center construction. Five years into that position, my eye problem (genetic visual impairment) grew increasingly worse. I began using screenreading software. In the meantime, friends and I made the leap to open our own engineering company. With ten years’ professional engineering experience, our company could get certification to respond to government tender opportunities quickly. For eleven years, we operated together, obtaining contracts with different organizations to both build and renovate, including recreation centers, banks, ministry of health buildings and more. I worked as project manager and my responsibility was managing in a safe, timely and sustainable manner. My duties included: Conducting on-site investigations and analyzing data (maps, reports, tests); Assessing potential risks, materials and costs; Providing advice and resolving creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies; Overseeing and mentoring staff and liaising with a variety of stakeholders; Monitoring progress and compiling reports on project status; Managing budget and purchasing equipment/materials; Complying with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc. and delivering technical files and other technical documentation as required. Although I was at the time struggling with increasing vision loss, I carried out my responsibilities as I used technology to read and see. After moving to Vancouver in 2017, I started improving my English at VCC college. Now I have completed the LINC program at the highest CLB 8 level. I also took some Visually Impaired Program courses related to technology use, such as Excel, Outlook, and internet use of programs covered by JAWS screen reading software. I am most interested in finding meaningful work, especially related to my previous experience. Unfortunately, my vision has deteriorated for the past 15 years; now I can see only light and shadow. However, I am determined to continue learning and adapting, and will work to build a better life for myself and my family in Canada. Looking forward to hearing from you if you find my experience and interests match what your company may be seeking. Warm regards, Mohammadreza Dadkhah
