L’envers Verlan (L’envers = the inverse) Two syllables are flipped, and spelt the way they sound o “Méchant” is pronounced “maychan,” so it is spelt “chanmé” Some verlan words have become so ubiquitous that they’ve appeared in dictionaries o Some words have becom re-verlan-ised! o Meuf (Femme) has become so mainstream Guess the double verlan of meuf!
