FUNDAMENTALS OF SURVEYING (FIELD LABORATORY - F2F) LEVELING SURVEY Name: LAURENTE, RACHIEL ANN I. ____________________________ Date: Student No.: 22-1-02881 _____________________________ TCIE 2-6 Course/Section: ________ October 22, 2022 ________________ Aim: To find the difference in elevation between two points. Theory: Bench Mark - Types, Simple/ Differential Leveling Instruments/ Accessories: Level, Leveling Rod, Tape Measure, Tripod, Pins or Marker SURVEY PROCEDURE: GROUP WORK 1. Using student individual PACE FACTOR establish a straight line with a distance of approximately 150 meters, consider the starting point as the Bench Mark 1 (BM1) and the last point as Bench Mark 2 (BM2). 2. Divide the line into two approximately equal parts, the midpoint of the line considers as the Turning Point (TP). 3. Set-up and level the instrument in the midway of the BM1 and TP. 4. Take the Backsight Rod Reading on BM1. Record the data. 5. Rotate the level, Take the Foresight Rod Reading on TP. Record the data. 6. Move the instrument and set-up and level again in the midway of TP and BM1. 7. Take the Backsight reading on the TP and take the Foresight reading on BM2. Record the data. 8. Using Tape Measure, measure the distance between point BM1 to TP, TP to BM2. 9. Make sure all the data were recorded. 10. Check the instrument and return it properly. Sample Table: OUTPUT: INDIVIDUAL SUBMISSION 1. Individual Pace Factor used: ____________ 2. The elevation (m) of BM1 is equal to 1+ last 2 digits of your student number. Sample: student number SET22102230, BM1 = 130 m. 181 BM1 = ________________ INST INST 3. Sketch the level route from BM1 - TP and TP - BM2. Based on the survey data. Sample: 4. Show the SOLUTION: a. Computation of HI's and Elevation of Stations ➢ HI 181 + 1.365 182.365 BM1 BS ➢ ELEVATION of BM2 182.365 - .545 181.82 HI FS b. Determining Backsight and Foresight Sums ∑ 𝐵𝑆 = 1.365 ∑ 𝐹𝑆 = .545 5. Show the TABULATED SOLUTION: STATION BACKSIGHT HI BM1 1.365 182.365 BM2 FORE SIGHT 181 .545 6. Arithmetic Check 181 + 1.365 182.365 - .545 181.82 ELEVATION (Elevation of BM1) (∑ BS) (Sum) (∑ FS) (Check with Elevation of BM2) 181.82
