GE Healthcare CARESCAPE R860 Alarm Management Patient Status It’s nice to see a familiar interface With the inception of the CARESCAPE R860, we were inspired to create a humancentered user interface that is inherently familiar the first time you use it. Our vision is to provide a Human Interface that provides simple, useful data for therapy decisions that can be customized for each patient. Through hours of observational research we’ve flattened the learning curve so that daily activities and in-depth analyses can be performed efficiently and confidently. Neonatal patients The CARESCAPE R860 has conventional and non-invasive ventilation therapy modes for neonates including: • Volume Guaranteed Pressure Support • nCPAP Settings Customizable settings and predictive protocols help provide clinicians with information to assess and address appropriate respiratory therapy to vulnerable patients. Plus, patient trends are accessible with a single touch. Patient Status Caregiver view preferences can be set and recalled easily. Accessible through swipe screen controls, the CARESCAPE R860 lets you toggle among various display settings for simple navigation. Navigation With the new Human Interface on the CARESCAPE R860, you are in the director’s chair. The user interface was designed with a simple and universal navigation scheme. So there is no need to drill through menus searching through settings, options and data. Navigation Lung Protection strategy The lung is a delicate structure that is highly sensitive. Mechanical ventilation can be detrimental if too much volume or pressure is delivered. And patients affected by lung disease are highly susceptible to ventilation-associated lung injury.1 The Lung Protection tools in the CARESCAPE R860 calculate FRC, providing the clinician with data for determining the optimal PEEP setting for the patient. Nutritional assessment measurements not estimates Appropriate clinical nutrition plays an important role in helping patients recover from illness. Yet, approximately 40-50% of ICU patients are malnourished.2 While predictive equations are often the only tool available to assess nutritional status, studies have shown equations to be accurate about 30% of the time.3, 4, 5 The CARESCAPE R860 offers advanced tools for Indirect Calorimetry measurements. Because the module is integrated with the ventilator, you continuously capture gas exchange and energy expenditure measurements. Clinicians can use this data to customize nutritional support. 2.Souba, W. Nutritional support. N Engl J Med 1997; 336: 41.) 3.Malone AM. Nutr Clin Pract. 2002; 17: 21-28. 1.E. D. Moloney and M. J. To manage the future you must understand the past. That was one of our guiding principles as we explored how to make traveling between the past, present and future states of your ventilated patients easier to navigate. With the new Human Interface on the CARESCAPE R860, we’ve enabled you to access historical patient data with either a single button touch or swipe. A touch of brilliance We designed the CARESCAPE R860 to suit the needs of clinical users regardless of experience or title. By placing expert tools in a user-friendly interface, CARESCAPE R860 is designed to help clinicians performing routine, daily activities or in-depth analysis, The CARESCAPE R860 covers the Past, Present and Future: • P ast: Historical trends presented in a meaningful context • P resent: Customizable views combining numerics and waveforms • F uture: Advanced tools for Lung Protection and Nutrition Assessment ...and alarm history. © 2014 General Electric Company – All rights reserved.
