Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is very infectious and has quickly spread all around the world. COVID 19 lead to very unequal opportunities for learning depending on whether the students had access to technology and parental support during the school closures. What is Face-to-Face learning? - Face-to-Face learning is a teaching approach in which a group of students is taught course content and learning material in person. This enables learners and instructors to interact in real-time. It is the most common method of learning. - Teachers and other students’ body language and voices might provide you with further knowledge and a greater understanding. - Opportunity to practice good social skills. - Enhancing students public speaking capabilities. - Students are present physically and can be easily observed. - Students can receive instant feedback on their work. What is a field trip or school trip? - It is referred to as an expedition, a journey taken by a teacher and students to a location outside of the classroom setting for visual examination in education. Interactive Education - Seeing and touching things makes it much easier to understand how things work. Access to a new environment. - Provides direct access to tools and environments that students would not otherwise have access to within their school’s four walls. What is an Academic Competition? - It usually encourages students to demonstrate academic performances at a higher level than that of a classroom setting or standardized assessment. Academic Competitions such as debate, math competitions, science competitions, spelling competitions, and so forth…. Benefits of Academic Competitions: 1. Motivation Thrives in Competitive situations. 2. Boosts self-esteem and engagement. Purpose of Academic Competitions: 1. Determines your strengths and weaknesses. 2. Enhances your learning, interpersonal, and financial skills. What is E-learning? A course entirely taken over the internet. The teacher and students do not have any interactions. All works and communications are handled via email, forums and video conferencing. Online classes are also crucial for teachers as not all students obey and do what the teacher told them to do. Some students tend to sleep during online classes. Several students might not understand the teaching if the network is unstable. Some students without reliable internet access/technology struggle to participate on online lessons. This causes a decrease in focus and loosing interest in the class. Students lack communication skill development in online classes. Cheating prevention during online assessment is complicated. Some students without reliable internet access/technology struggle to participate on online lessons. Online learning means more screen time. Excessive screen usage can cause all sorts of health problems such as blurred eyesight, migraines, muscle pain, and stress. Students who have disengaged from school together may have slipped backwards, loosing knowledge or skills they once had. Students who move onto the next grade unprepared are missing key building blocks of knowledge. Face to face school during the pandemic. Students are required to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer before going into class. The sitting arrangement is 2m meter distance to prevent interaction between students and students are advised to keep up social distance outside the classroom as well. Safety requirements Vaccination protects the person against severe COVID 19. Students are all required to be fully vaccinated to enter the school or college. It is essential for students and school staff to undergo ART Test before entering the school. This will help inculcate social responsibility among pupils and keep schools safe for learning. Temperature screening may identify people who have an elevated temperature. Every person is required to check their temperature before entering the premises of the school. BruHealth APP is developed by the Government of Brunei to provide COVID-19 and preventive care information.
