WHAT IS COVID 19 AND HOW IT
AFFECTED EDUCATION?
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious
disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
It is very infectious and has quickly spread all around
the world.
COVID 19 lead to very unequal opportunities for
learning depending on whether the students had access
to technology and parental support during the school
closures.
What is Face-to-Face learning?
- Face-to-Face learning is a teaching approach
in which a group of students is taught course
content and learning material in person. This
enables learners and instructors to interact in
real-time. It is the most common method of
learning.
- Teachers and other students’ body
language and voices might provide you
with further knowledge and a greater
understanding.
- Opportunity to practice good social skills.
- Enhancing students public speaking
capabilities.
- Students are present physically and
can be easily observed.
- Students can receive instant feedback
on their work.
What is a field trip or school trip?
- It is referred to as an expedition, a journey taken by a teacher and students
to a location outside of the classroom setting for visual examination in
education.
Interactive Education
- Seeing and touching things makes it much easier to
understand how things work.
Access to a new environment.
- Provides direct access to tools and
environments that students would not otherwise
have access to within their school’s four walls.
What is an Academic Competition?
- It usually encourages students to demonstrate academic
performances at a higher level than that of a classroom setting
or standardized assessment.
Academic Competitions such as debate, math
competitions, science competitions, spelling
competitions, and so forth….
Benefits of Academic Competitions:
1. Motivation Thrives in Competitive
situations.
2. Boosts self-esteem and engagement.
Purpose of Academic Competitions:
1. Determines your strengths and weaknesses.
2. Enhances your learning, interpersonal, and
financial skills.
What is E-learning?
A course entirely taken over the internet. The
teacher and students do not have any
interactions. All works and communications
are handled via email, forums and video
conferencing.
Online classes are also crucial for teachers as not all students obey and do what the
teacher told them to do.
Some students tend to sleep during online classes.
Several students might not understand the teaching if the network is unstable. Some
students without reliable internet access/technology struggle to participate on
online lessons.
This causes a decrease in focus and loosing interest in the
class.
Students lack communication skill development in online
classes.
Cheating prevention during online assessment is complicated.
Some students without reliable internet
access/technology struggle to participate on online
lessons.
Online learning means more screen time. Excessive
screen usage can cause all sorts of health problems
such as blurred eyesight, migraines, muscle pain,
and stress.
Students who have disengaged from school together
may have slipped backwards, loosing knowledge or
skills they once had.
Students who move onto the next grade unprepared
are missing key building blocks of knowledge.
Face to face school during the pandemic.
Students are required to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer before going into
class.
The sitting arrangement is 2m meter distance to prevent interaction between
students and students are advised to keep up social distance outside the
classroom as well.
Safety
requirements
Vaccination protects the person against severe COVID 19. Students
are all required to be fully vaccinated to enter the school or college.
It is essential for students and school staff to undergo ART Test before
entering the school.
This will help inculcate social responsibility among pupils and keep
schools safe for learning.
Temperature screening may identify people who have an
elevated temperature. Every person is required to check their
temperature before entering the premises of the school.
BruHealth APP is developed by the Government of Brunei
to provide COVID-19 and preventive care information. All
higher education students are required to scan the QR code
before entering the college or school.
THANK YOU ALL FOR LISTENING.
