Grade:
_______________
EQUIPMENT:
caliper, glass or metal tube or rod
OBJECTIVE:
- determine the width of a given body and calculate maximum absolute and maximum relative
error of your measurements
EXPERIMENTAL METHOD AND PROCEDURE:
- First, we divided into groups of 3, we gathered the necessary equipment, the caliper and the
metal tube. The width of a given body was measured using a caliper.

CONCLUSIONS:
The maximum absolute(am) and maximum relative(rm) error was calculated. The width of the
body is (2.0050.025)cm. The maximum absolute error is 0.025cm and the maximum relative error
is 1.25%.
