Rudraksh Shankaran +919899339886 rudraksh.shankaran21@imperial.ac.uk 15/8/22 (Add in Bold role and Morgan Stanley) Dear Sir/Madam, I am currently pursuing a Masters in Financial Technology at Imperial College Business School and wish to apply to Morgan Stanley as a Sales and Trading summer analyst in the Institutional Securities group. (Shorten) I have previously worked as a quantitative analyst with Scientific Asset Management for my penultimate year project at UCL to predict the prices of Robusta Coffee Futures using Deep Learning algorithms. This experience encouraged me to write my Bachelors’ thesis on forecasting the Foreign Exchange market using Neural Networks and statistical methods for time series analysis. Although, this project was highly quantitative, it provided me with the knowledge on market fundamentals and on the massive impact that Global Markets have on our day to day life. I have also had an opportunity work as an investment banking intern in an Indian boutique firm where I analysed complex numerical data to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on Indian EdTech industry and formulate DCF models. I also led a team of interns to create pitch books and investment teasers for potential clients such as VC firms and Angel Investors. In my recent internship as a Corporate Finance intern, I produced a number of equity research reports as I wanted to get an insight into the equities markets after exposure to the primary markets as well as commodities and FX markets. I also have a strong ability to adapt and take risks in high-pressure situations like I did when our team was stuck in a Himalayan snowstorm on a 14,000 feet glacier and I insisted on taking a risky route to our campsite in order to survive the night rather than set camp and risk altitude sickness. Given my background in Computer Science and Global Markets along with my strong data-oriented analytical skills and the ability to effectively work in a team, I believe that I am a particularly good fit for the Sales and Trading summer analyst position at your firm. I had the opportunity to learn about Morgan Stanley’s culture, values and leadership by attending the Grad fest 2022 and I am impressed by how Morgan Stanley has set the standard for excellence in both equities and fixed income across the globe. I find the flat organizational structure of the trading desk to be a perfect fit for my personality and believe that it would give me an unparalleled opportunity to learn through osmosis from the most extraordinary peers, and I look forward to joining and contributing to your firm. (Remove cliché and add specifics) A copy of my resume is enclosed for your reference. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you and learn more about Morgan Stanley at your earliest convenience. I can be reached at [Phone Number] or via email at [Email Address]. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. (Just thank for time and consideration) Yours faithfully, Rudraksh Shankaran Enclosure: Resume Get rid of italics Get rid of KPMG
