In the article "How Do You See Your Self(ie)?'' The author starts off with a somewhat negative tone about selfies and how they are dangerous. Many times, in the article the author states the bad parts of taking selfies everywhere. In the article it states, “In Spain, a man was gored in the neck last weekend while trying to take a video selfie at the annual running of the bulls in Pamplona.” When the author uses this tone in the article not only does it get the reader interested more in what else the article has to say but it also gets the author's point across to the reader. Another way that the author affects the reader in the article is getting the reader thinking about how a lot of the facts stated could be true. The author also explains some positives about selfies “They found that photos with human faces helped improve impressions in a field that is often subject to negative stereotypes.” Having some positives in the article shows both sides of the statement that both taking selfies is fun but could be dangerous
