Prek Editable Schedule with Real Pictures
Description: This is a visual schedule with real pictures specifically for early childhood learners. Sometimes children have a hard time transitioning
activities. Visual cues are a great way to smooth transition time and avoid
challenging behaviors. Using real pictures instead of clipart can also help
young learners, kids with autism or ESL students.
Each picture has an editable label so if you don’t call your class gathering
“Circle Time” but “Large Group” instead, you can change it.
There are three sizes: half sheet (2 to a page), strips (4 to a page), and
cards (9 to a page).
Skills/Standards practiced:
SE/SS.1.2 I can demonstrate awareness of abilities and preferences.
SE/SS 1.2a I can demonstrate independence in decision making regarding
activities and materials.
SE/SS 1.2b I can demonstrate independence in a range of activities, routines, and tasks.
SE/SS 2.4a I can follow established rules, routines and directions independently.
Setup:
Decide which set you plan to use, print, laminate, and
cut out.
Some Ideas:
Use in your large group area or other areas that you have
access to with your students to reference the posters.
For individual use, laminate a folder and attach the cards
with velcro. Also attach an envelope. Students can pull off each card as it happens in the routine.
Laminate the pieces and make a vertical board with an envelope at the bottom.
A student can pull each schedule piece as it happens and drop in the envelope.
