ESSAY: 1. What is nation-building? Discuss the different components of nation-building. Nation building is about making a country or nation great. From underdeveloped to developing and developed country. This enables the people in the country lives a comfort and stable life. It also brings peace to all country. It is important that every country participates or practice nation-building for them not to be left out from other countries and for the sake of its people who will benefit its advantages. Nation building encourages the economy to grow and be able to become stable in the long run and viable. One of the examples of successful nation-building is South Korea, after the war in 1953, they were considered as one of the poorest nations in the world but today, it is a wealthy country. If we try to look at it, the impact of a successful nation-building will give people a great way to live their life without being deprived from their basic needs. a. Economic Development improves the standard living of people through the creation of jobs to grow our economy, creation of higher wealth and the creation of overall better quality of life. It also includes the development and building new infrastructures, improving education system, enhancing public safety, an opening of new business etc. to achieve economic growth which is important in building our nation. The birth of technology change and affects the flow of our economy. The better technology we have the easier we achieve economic development. There are lots of factors that can contribute to the economic development but, just my observation, countries whose technology is advanced are usually the countries who have better standing or rank in terms of the economy or countries that are rich and having a standard living. b. Social Development is important because people do the work and if they are at their best, if they feel motivated about chasing their dreams, they will be able to help the country and contribute to the economic development. Lack of social development affects the ability to develop language development, social skills and emotional stability. These are needed to be the best version of oneself. If the person is at their best version, they will perform great. c. Political Development Given the fact that the political development also has a huge part in economic development. Politics including the government usually have the authority when it comes to our economy. The Leader of this country should be competent enough not only in the part of our economy but also in different sectors and factors that can help prioritize our nation-building. It also enhances the implementation of such policy (science-based policies and regulations) and allocate resources in order of priority, for instance, we are in the pandemic, the government should know where to allocate resources in order of priority, like allocating more money in health sectors but without the expense of our economy. d. Institutional Development Institutions have a critical role in achieving long-term, good economic growth. They design policies, organize and manage resources, and provide services that promote and sustain development. If the institutions that lead growth and prosperity are dysfunctional, they are unlikely to be sustained. It includes hospitals, education, religion etc. For instance, In Education, they are teaching technological literacy, etc. which helps student to be innovative and be a critical thinker in terms of managing and access the technology. Technology is always changing that’s why it is an advantage now that schools are teaching science education that includes technology because it gives them the sense of being adaptable and flexible in any changes and for them to be able to create ideas that might help our country in the future. In medicine, Science and technology had the vital role specially the innovations that we still use nowadays like the incubator of Fe Del Mundo, X-rays, and any other apparatus use in medicine. 2.
