Frozen Embryo Transfer I think the process of embryo transfer is a great thing. It gives individuals who may have difficulty conceiving the opportunity to become parents. If I was married and we were experiencing fertility issues, I would definitely consider the embryo transfer. However, I would not want an embryo that had been frozen for 24 years. I would weary about the condition of an old frozen embryo. There could be some undetected issues that may arise during the pregnancy that cause medical problems or disabilities for the child. There has not been enough research documented on the use of old embryo regarding the physical condition of the babies that were conceived, nor the reasons why the other embryos were not successful. There are advantages and disadvantages of the frozen embryo transfer. Some of the advantages are being able to carry a child and experiencing childbirth, starting a family, and making use of unused or donated embryos. Some of the disadvantages of embryos transfer are the expenses associated with the procedure, various medication, multiple attempts to conceive, mental anxiety, and stress. In conclusion, it does matter to me how old the embryo is.
