The Life and Works of Jose Rizal
As mandated by Republic Act 1425, this course covers the life
and works of the country’s national hero, Jose Rizal. Among the
topics covered are Rizal’s biography and his writings,
particularly the novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo,
some of his essays, and various correspondences.
1. Be acquainted with the Rizal family.
2. Identify significant events that happened to Rizal and his
family especially during his early years.
3. Recall significant events that happened to Rizal in his
formative years.
4. Identify influences of Ateneo and UST to Rizal’s character.
5. Relate Rizal’s experiences during his formative years to the
student’s experiences
