Before operating any
piece of equipment,
begin with a visual look
of the working area.
Make sure it is level and
clear of obstruction.
Walk around the
vehicle and take note
any wear or damage to
tires, hoses, forks,
attachments, chains,
reels and hold downs.
Check the fluid levels
including the fuel
before starting the
vehicle. Also check the
coolant, engine oil,
hydraulic oil and
windshield wiper fluid.
Put on the seatbelt and
reach all controls and
see all gauges and
indicator lights.
All mirrors and
windows are clean and
not cracked to provide
the operator clear
visibility on all sides
Start the machine and
ensure that all gauges,
lights, flashes, horn and
windshield wipers are
operational.
Test the responsiveness
of the steering and
brakes by moving the
vehicle a short
distance.
