● Flat plate with wells that are used as small test tubes
Bunsen Burner
● Small adjustable gas burner used in labs
Ring Stand
● Metal stand with a
long upright rod
attached to a heavy
rectangular base
that is used with
rings or clamps to
support other lab
materials
Wire Gauze
● Thin metal used to support
glassware when it is being
heated. It sits on top of the ring
stand.
Crucible Tongs
● A tool used to remove crucible lids, crucibles, flasks, or
evaporating dishes
Clay Triangle
● Supports a crucible when it is heated with a bunsen
burner
Mortar & Pestle
● Tools used for crushing or grinding materials into a fine
powder
Striker
● Used to start bunsen burners (made of a rough surface
and a piece of flint).
Safety Goggles
