Introduction
This paper aims at conducting & presenting an article review on the title of information management
systems and its role decision making. Management Information System also takes into account integrative
nature of information flow as well as the structuring of the organization around decision centers. And also
focuses on understanding the concept of MIS, the need for MIS, the advantages of MIS in an organization,
the MIS model, decisions and the decision making system and majorly the role of MIS in decision making.
Management information systems (MIS) is an organized, diverse and automated information system that
is concerned with the process of gathering, storing and transferring relevant information to support the
management operations in an organization.
Summary
The main objective of this study was the role of MIS in decision making of an organization. How decisions
are made in an organization using MIS, the challenges faced by the organization in this process and
understanding the concepts of management information system and its role in decision making.
The article discusses management information systems and its role in decision making. MIS provides faster
access to the required information which helps the organization to make effective and timely decisions
regarding every aspect such as investments, employments, products, etc., depending upon the
organization. Decision making basically refers to choosing a certain line of action from among several
alternatives. It is integral management that occurs in every level of management and in every function.
The effectiveness of the organization depends upon the quality of decisions that informs its operation.
The scope of this research was to explore the information management system and its role of decision
making of research scholars and their perception on information management system behavior in the
organizations.
As I understood, the researcher used survey method in this study and also used questionnaire in order to
gather data from the research scholars. Random sample was selected to distribute questionnaires .The
data collected from research scholar was analyzed and interpreted in the form of tables. The finding
screened that, critically applying managing information system in different organizations with in its role
and decision making. How decisions are made in an organization using MIS, what challenges are faced by
the organization in this process and a few recommendations to curb these challenges.
The strength of this paper was its objective, importance and the models which are used to manage
information systems and its role and decision making was well structured and organized. The benefit of
managing information system in organizations was detail discussed. It provides wide range of decision
alternative for the decision makers, enabling them to make their choice depending on the system and
situation. It ensures that the choice results in more often the positive outcome. These are the major
reasons why Management information system is chosen by renewed organization for decision making and
management of information.
As the limitation of this paper, the way to manage information system in organization was not identified
by researcher. The model which researcher used was not clearly defined for individuals. Also the method
what the researcher used was not clearly stated.
As evaluation, this paper was very good to understand how to manage information system .However the
technique to apply it is not enough so discussing with stake holders who are working in that organization
is one of the best way to manage information system.
Conclusion
I conclude that, in this article the researcher tries to bring findings of this study about management
information system and its role in decision making. MIS with all of its advantages has a few challenges
that need to be overcome. Decision making in such organizations would be faster and in line with the
modern and efficient business practices. The ideas of researchers in this article were very good in order
to manage information in organization. I grasp some concepts from this article like managing relevant
information by using systematic technique is the simple way to access something in different
organizations.
I recommend the authors of this article to carefully raise up the concept, regarding the benefit and
methods for the management of information system in order to apply some works in organization. So that
users can manage his or her works and information by using what the researchers stated in this article.
