I believer that a we all should make use of our time wisely. This entails being productive
and never losing the chance of building meaningful experiences. The test of this principle can be
seen on how a person makes decisions, plans, and activities.
To take the course of Doctor of Education Major in Educational Management may be a
misalignment to my master’s degree, I have no other resort but to still take this course. Just to
be honest, there are no schools in Butuan City that offer any language related PhD degrees.
Going beyond the city will make things complicated as I do not have enough luxury to sustain my
weekly transportation, allowance, and other fees. Hence, I have to practically make a decision to
pursue my academic journey.
Throughout my academic journey, I have been exposed and experienced in various
scenarios which shaped my characteristics to date. Willingness to learn, regardless of what I
achieved in life; I always believe that learning never stops. I have to consistently listen, receive
corrections, and be willing to change. Committed and passionate, when I am tasked for a certain
job, I normally give it all out. I always seek for the best through gathering inputs, seeking
corrections, and reflecting on my output. Moreover, I also work even beyond what is asked so
long as I deem it necessary to improve. Faith in the Lord, since I started giving my education a
focus, I normally pair my hard work with prayer. Before I stand in front of people, compete, write
something, enter a class or whatever challenging experience that be—I first pray and ask divine
intervention to work in my midst. Rooted, growing up in a below the poverty line family taught
me that as our branches grow bigger, so should our roots. We should never forget where we
came from, the people who helped us, and the simplistic life we all desire once in our lives.
In addition, there are skills which I also developed throughout my secular experience as
a teacher and now the head of the department. These are leading and managing, public speaking,
social media managing, organizing meetings and events, video editing, and concept-making for
the improvement of our institution.
Other than the financial aspect, I feel like the challenge that might occur on the latter
could be my time management skills as I am also a full-time employee in a different institution.
Though that may be the case, I think it is workable as I have also tried it while taking my master’s
degree.
Admitting and hopefully completing this course will overtly elevate my expertise in the
academe. However, it does not end there. The experiences and linkages that I may be able to
build will surely create a difference in the community that I belong to. This can be in the form of
