DUTIES PERFORMED
1. Windows installations i.e. Installation of Operating systems – Windows 8.1, Installation of
user applications – Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office Package, Installation of company
applications – ICS, DCS, SAP, IMS & FDB.
2. Desktop Maintenance i.e. Blowing of desktops and troubleshooting of faulty parts.
3. Setting up the Video Conferencing Unit and making sure that all the units are in function
before any conference takes place.
4. Connecting IP Phones to the network.
5. Attending to system and network failures.
6. Configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Outlook mail – Recreating profiles and
ensuring backups are made.
7. Learning about various telecommunication cabinet devices (Fiber tray, Router, Primary
switch, secondary switches, patch panel).
8. Ensuring that all customers within the company are connected to the Internet.
9. Adding new Computers to the company Domain network.
10. Performing the trucking and preparation of Ethernet cables i.e. by crimping and knowing
the standard arrangement of the 8 strands of UTP cables.
11. Connecting various machines to the printer.
