On May, 7, 2022, Saturday, a shooting incident transpired in Sitio
Danglas, Barangay Labut, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. The victims were
identified as Recto Bagani, 65, of Ayyeng Manabo, Abra; Lerry Pol Torda,
41, of Barangay Maratudo, Magsinggal, Ilocus Sur; Jovito Tomaneng, 61,
of Dingras, Ilocos Norte, a retired Philippine Army scout ranger; and
William Bolilit, of Carasi, Ilocos Norte.

(Brief facts of the case)
The initial investigation revealed that the victims were on their way to
Brangay Patong after receiving an information that an alleged vote-buying
is happening on the aforementioned location but were confronted by the
alleged aides of a mayoral candidate, until a gun battle transpired.

(Other Facts)
Two of the victims were killed on the spot and the other two died at the
hospital while undergoing treatment for the gunshot wounds.
4.
The motive of the incident is undetermined and the case is still under
investigation.
