The effects of immense popularity of the drink milktea among Junior High
Students in Rizal High School
Introduction:
If you’re living in a country where its summer everyday just like the Philippines,
maybe you’re always craving for some beverages or refreshments. It is also applicable
while chilling and having a conversation with someone . Because, most of the people
often love to talk while drinking something. And of course while having a dialogue
with someone, you’re looking for a place where you and friends are comfortable
enough to share your moment.
Nowadays, the immense popularity of what so called “Milktea” has having an
enormous trend worldwide. According to wikipedia, milktea refers to several form of
beverage found in many cultures, containing some combination of varieties of flavors,
tea and milk. It originated in a tea house in Taiwan by a man named, Liu Han Chie way
back 1980s. It tremendously spread in parts of East and Southeast Asia. In the
Philippines, many milktea shops has been established from the past few years. Some of
the famous brand of it are Infinitea, I Love Milktea, K-Tea, and many more. As the
Milktea Craze develops worldwide, there's an expansion of milktea establishments
particularly in the Philippines. It got well known to the understudies of the said nation.
They purchase Milktea to fulfill their desires and due to its high demand. Some milktea
costs a great deal and some were moderate as well.
This study will show the effects of immense popularity of milktea to the allowance
of Grade 10 Junior High Students of Rizal High School, containing the good and bad
effects of it. Allowance are meant to spend in foods that will give satisfaction in the
hunger of students. The researchers see a connection between the two variables that
might have an effect to one another. The researchers are aiming for a better results, that
may lead to a good conclusion to answer our probem.
Background of The Study
Different cases of buying products especially milktea continue to increase because
of the massive popularity of the drink. Many people are spending their money to get a
taste of milktea. Due to the increasing of milktea establishement near Rizal High
School, the researchers want to know the effect of milktea to the allowances of the
students. This study will be tested by surveying the students from Grade 10 in Rizal
High School. Students, Businessmen, and Consumers will having some benefits by this
study.
Theoretical Framework
One theory said that it is “Ti betan” who created the original drink method of
mixing tea with milk, which then spread to neighbors in India and then to Europe by the
British.
“ A little tea” this theory analyzes how the brand can obtain the success of sales
through the advantages of paying attention to customer value and customer value
evaluation and strategies. It attracts new customers at a low price, raising price with
adding more ingredients.
According to Justquinly (2018), nowadays milktea has constantly hovering in taste
of Filipinos especially the teenagers. Here are the following reasons why this
refreshment caught our attention.
1. It is a new kind of refreshment
Since Philippines is a hot country, Filipinos do love some refreshments.
2. It is suitable for chilling and dialogue
Most people often love to talk while drinking something. Milktea is
somehow good for this kind of event.
3. We are milk lovers
Aside form knowing that milk has lot of health benefits, milktea offers a
wide range of flavors that we can choose from.
4. It is affordable
At an estimated price of 50 to 100php, this product is somewhat cheaper
compared to other forms of refreshments.

Statement of the Problem
Drinking and consuming milktea has become a habit for most of the people,
especially to the teenagers. Most of them merely drink coffee, they didn’t notice that it
was consuming too much of their allowance.
The purpose of this study is to determine the level of how much does milktea
affects the allowances of Grade 10 Rizal Junior High School. The following questions
will be answered by the respondents:
1. How often do you drink milktea in a week?
2. How much is your allowance every week?
3. How much of your allowance do you spend in milktea?
4. Rate 1-10, how much do you feel satisfied after buying a milktea?
5. How much of your allowance can you still manage to save?
Research Locale
The study is conducted in Rizal High School, Caniogan, Pasig City. The
respondents of this study are the Junior High Grade 10 students of the said school. The
researchers chose grade 10 pupils among Junior High because they are the ones who
have increased their allowances, specially they are located in the Computer Building
inside the campus.
Assumption or Hypothesis
Due to the gigantic fame of the drink milk tea, the Researchers believe that there is
a significant effect or relationship of consuming milktea to the allowances of the Junior
High Grade 10 students of Rizal High School.
Significance of the study
The significance of this study is to inform and give awareness of what are the
possible effects of the popularity of milktea and how students will be affected. This
study aims to reached out in all various including the elderly people, adults, and most
importantly, the millennials. The study is considered significant because its finding
may be beneficial to the following:
1. Students/Consumer
This study helps to determine if buying milktea can affect their
allowances that may help them to know if they budget or spent their money
well. This can also help them in limiting themselves in buying milktea. They
will know how to save money and be thrifty.
2. Parents
This study may be a great help to give information to the parents of the
consumer specially the youth, for them to be aware whether if the allowances
of their child spent well or not properly use.
3. Friends
This study can help them know the effects of milktea in their allowances.
They will know how to limit themselves in engaging in buying milktea and
find some more cheap place to hang-out.
4. Business Owners/Entrepreneur
This study can help them to know why students are addicted to milktea.
They will know how to improve their product and sell it at low cost for
students.
Scope and Delimitation
This study explores the student’s financial stability. The purpose of this study is to
give information to people about the effects of milktea in the allowances of students
and to prevent them spending too much money to the said product. The respondents of
this study refers to all people specifically grade 10 students of Rizal High School. The
researchers used instruments to standardized test that is suitable in identifying the
effects of milktea in the allowances of grade 10 students in Rizal High School.

Milktea - refers to any tea drink with milk.
Allowance - money that you are given regularly, to pay for a particular thing.
Standardized - evaluate by comparing with a standard.
Gigantic - exceeding the usual or expected size, force or prominence
Massive - forming a large mass; bulky and heavy.
Immense - vast; huge; very great; greatness in size or degree.
Enormous - extraordinarily great size, number or degree.

Research Methodology
In this chapter, the researchers aims to show the research design, research method,

Research Design
The researchers used quantitative research that involves in showing
mathematical datas such as tables and statistics to express the meaning and
synthesized the data gathered. This study will use descriptive research design that
is under qualitative research design and it involves in describing the subjects and
data gathered.
Research Instrument
This study will use standardized questionnaires that is suitable in
gathering data from respondents.
Sampling Technique
This study will be using simple random sampling in choosing respondents,
which means that all of the subjects has an equal chance to be a respondent. The
researchers think that this type of sampling will be suitable for this study. This type
of sampling is a probability sampling.

The respondents of this study will be the Grade 10 students of Rizal High
School in Pasig City.
