The Problem: Our reefs are dying at an alarming rate (coral bleaching occurs when species lose their lively colors and become white) WHY: Global
warming, overheating of the oceans, the mining and burning of coal,
herbicides and pesticides, and human interference. This causes fish species
and other organisms to die with the reef.
The Solutions: Get involved in anti-global warming initiatives, prevent
carbon pollution, wear reef protective sunscreen, and minimize the mining
and burning of coal.
