PRACTICAL CLASS
(Hosted and Organized by DIVeS)
COURSE TITLE:
Film Production Management
INTRODUCTION TO COURSE:
By the time students qualify to take this practical class, they already appreciate the fact
that a successful film requires the skilled contributions of several diverse
teams/departments of people, working together, to create an aesthetic, yet commercial
product, called a Film. They have undergone the rudimentary introductions into how
the behind-the-scenes world of movies operate, having been introduced to the history of
film, basic camera operations, basis scriptwriting requirements, basic editing and sound
requirements, and basic directing skills, and have even understood the importance of
having cultural and societal discussions as it relates to film.
This Course, through this practical class, introduces the students/participants to the
singular department which supports all other diverse departments in delivering their
contributions seamlessly - the Production Department as headed by the Producer.
Students can expect to meet the different roles and persons that keep the proverbial
wheel of any film project turning, and whom ultimately receive the legal credit as
‘Author/Owner’ of the any film project, because of their overarching role in organizing
and executing the film project.
