These fill-in-the-blank student pages are your notes to study after you have watched all the videos, so protect this for safe keeping. The NCLEX® is like no other test that you have taken. This lecture prepares you to answer NCLEX® questions using Hurst review specific strategies. Most lectures are divided into 20-25minute sections within each topic, so be sure you have allotted this amount of time as you study. All of the videos have closed captioning available if you would like to use this feature as you watch the lecture. Also, at the end of each lecture, there are activities to guide your studying. These include suggestions for reviewing the material, Content Post Test questions, and ways to use your Qbank practice questions – all to help you learn the material without a doubt or hesitation! *(Although the amount of time required to complete this review is based on your study habits and time available, we strongly encourage you to watch all the videos in a timely manner. Review “How to Pass” Video Q (cue) Cards Audio Tape & Listen Re-watch Videos Qbank/ Customizer Intense Study Time: Now that you have watched all your videos and your student book is filled out, it is time to study like Marlene says. Your student book notes are ALL you need to study. If you have forgotten what she says, re-read your How to Pass student pages or watch the video again. Then make Q (cue) Cards to “talk out” the student book notes. Audio tape yourself talking these out and then listen to your recordings for critical thinking. If you need to, re-watch any videos that you cannot easily talk out. Take some Qbank/Customizer Questions in each content area to practice as you review. You also have Resource Library that you can refer to as you study. No one can tell you how long to study or when you have studied enough, but it should take you a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks to learn it without a doubt or hesitation. It is recommended that you study a minimum of about 50-100 hours. Don’t go into the biggest test of your life unprepared! Qbank/Customizer: This test bank is for your practice. Take as many of these as you need, so you will know the content without a doubt or hesitation. It is recommended that you use the Qbank/Customizer as you study the content. Completion of the Qbank/Customizer is not required for the Hurst Guarantee. Resource Library Readiness Exam 1 Readiness Exam 2 Readiness Exam 3 Readiness Exam 4 Review the Tests & Rationales Resource Library: A link for the Resource Library is found on your student dashboard when you log into your Hurst account. This will provide you with additional information on infection control, pharmacology, pediatrics, and other areas that you may want to review. This is the “icing on the cake” so use only if you need additional review. These can be downloaded or printed if you like, but only the ones you feel you need to study some more. Readiness Exam/Simulator: Once you have learned all your materials, you are ready to take a Readiness Exam. The Readiness Exam/Simulator provides four tests that provide 125 questions on each test. The tests consist of the eight “Client Needs” categories based on the percentages defined by the NCLEX- RN® Test Plan. Only you will know when you have studied properly and know the core content without a doubt or hesitation. Make sure you study the rationales and understand the reasoning behind the right and wrong answers. You can access these tests through the Q Review link for the life of your account. After you have taken all your Readiness Exams, you can review each test with the rationales for both the correct and incorrect options as many times as you like. An average score on all 4 tests of 77/125 is common among students who pass the NCLEX® the first time. If you are not scoring close to this number, you need to review the questions and study more.
