Just, as usual, I was roaming around the dormitory in my Pac-man pyjamas and a Minecraft sweatshirt. I went towards the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee; fueling my body to survive the whole day of doing absolutely nothing. It was my summer break after a tough third semester and a useful opportunity to organize my desolate dorm room. An impulsive knock at the door jolted me and knocked me out of my thoughts of figuring out how to fix my bed's frame edges. "who is it?" I asked vaguely, thinking it must be the postman with the daily news. no reply. "Hello? Who is it?!" I repeated my question with a touch of annoyance in my tone. Rolling my eyes I hurriedly opened the door and saw a stranger who stood before me. There was a girl in her mid-twenties with huge brown eyes, smiling at me. She was taller than me with shoulder-length dyed electric blue hair. A thick lock of her hair was tucked behind her ear. “Who are you?”I asked in puzzlement. "I'm Lily, your step-sister. Am I welcome inside?" said the girl staring at my face with some concern. I nodded my head still in utter confusion while she made her way inside the room. Lots of questions were rising inside me, before I could speak she held my hands gently while looking into my eyes with a great amount of worry. " You might be wondering how I found you and why I'm here. Well, let me explain it to you.” She must have read my bizarre facial expressions because I was not known for hiding my emotions very well. " Our father had already shown me my stepmother and your pictures from time to time. Although I never bothered to give them a glance for more than five seconds." Her gaze fell to the ground. She wasn't holding my hands now though her hands were now closed into tight balls, I could see her knuckles whitening. Something about her expressions was making me feel anxious now. I didn't interrupt her because I was curious to know what she had to say. " I saw you in my dream but before that, I saw my dog, Browser, in a dream and he was crying for help, and sadly the very next day some wild street dogs ripped my innocent puppy apart." Lily said while a tear rolled down her cheek. I was still shocked, making sure this was not part of a Final Destination movie. "Then the other day I saw a dream in which my car crashed into a pole and I woke up with a gasp. I tried to ignore thinking about this dream until it kept on appearing simultaneously every night." Looking straight into my eyes she again held my hands but this time more firmly. I could feel her hands cold and shaky with some kind of fear inside her. " The last time I dreamt I saw the same thing but this time I didn't woke up when the car crashed. I saw you crying and saying something to me but I couldn't hear you." She took a huge breath out and embraced me in her arms softly. I felt warm and at home in her presence. "I'm here to tell you to just be careful, I don't want to lose a lovely sister like you." said Lily looking for a response from me. I thanked her for caring about me and later we spent the rest of the day catching up on both of our lives. By the time she was saying goodbye, we had both forgotten about the strange dream. I promised to stay in touch with her and hugged her one last time. The next morning at 9 I got a call from an unknown number. Reluctantly, I picked it up and heard an officer speaking on the other end. “Lily Black is dead,” he said with a blank expression.”She had a piece of paper in her hand which turns out to be your number. Her car crashed into a pole and she died on spot.” I got goosebumps as my phone hit the floor and I wrapped my arms around myself. I was numb, not sure what to think next but one thought struck my mind, what if I'm next?
