MAIN ISSUE: - Is the practice of Islamic culture effective in improving the performance of civil servants? - How can we maintaining integrity of civil servant through empowerment religiosity? - How integrity in public sector can be improved? ACTORS INVOLVED: - Civil servant IMPLICATION: - decrease the public trust towards public organization - Workplace integrity can take many forms, but it most commonly relates to possessing upstanding character traits and work ethics, such as sound judgement, honesty, dependability, and loyalty. - Nowadays, social media have wide coverage so if a few of civil servant do something that morally or ethically wrong, the news will be spread all over the country rapidly. - Public will always have stereotype which is over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people. (Mcleod, 2017) - When they heard few news about lack integrity of some civil servant, they will have same perception towards of all civil servant. - Lack of integrity of some civil servant, will leads to distrust of public to all civil servant. - administrative malfunction and corruption misconduct within the organization - Corruption defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain and personal moral purpose or collective gain. (Dobel, 2017) - As civil servant, the public interest should be prioritized. - Lack of integrity will cause the one that should be prioritized will be ignored. - It will lead to corruption as they will focus on personal interest instead of public interest. - Eventually, there will malfunction and misconduct within the organization. - The country's image has been harmed - Integrity is a critical factor in determining whether or not someone can be trusted. - Evidence reveals a correlation between citizen and business faith in politicians, as well as the perception of corruption. - Corruption destroys integrity, which is why the rising number of civil servant arrests is so concerning. - As a result, the country's reputation has deteriorated due to a problematic social and economic climate. CONCLUSION - Integrity is about the ethics of behavior of everyone involved in governance. It is argued that it is a relevant concept for an understanding of governance - integrity is seen as the quality of acting in accordance or harmony with relevant moral values, norms, and rules, a choice based partly on some of the arguments already put forward. - To develop and protect your integrity, start by identifying your core values. These are the values that you refuse to compromise on, no matter what. Next, analyze every choice you make to ensure that you're doing the right thing. - Integrity in services should be demonstrated by civil servants through the exercise of the trust and authority entrusted to them in the public interest. - it can be concluded that the ethics exist from within an individual with the existence of complete discipline and strength.
