Safety comes in a can. I can, You can, We
all can, Be Safe!
Safe Tool C6
What is the C6? The Critical 6 are the six safety
category topics in which OC employees have been
killed or severely injured in the past. They are
Driving Safety, Working from Heights, Confined
Space, Lift Trucks, Machine Guarding and Control
of Hazardous Energy (LTT).
These programs are tailored to help to reduce the
risk that we all have to face each day at work. Each
program has an element owner and is driven by the
owner to meet improvement goals.
C6 how are we doing?

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS - SAFETY MESSAGE FROM DOUG PONTSLER
This year has been extremely active from the standpoint of severe weather and
natural occurring events. We have seen earthquakes and a tsunami in Japan, tornadoes impacting
thousand in the southern United States, and now the central US. We also had a facility evacuated
over concerns of an approaching wildfire.
It is important that each of our facilities are prepared to handle emergency situations should they
develop The best way to make sure you are prepared is to ensure that roles and responsibilities are
clearly defined for emergency response and your procedures are tested and practices no less than annually.
